Multivimamin tablets and the marathon :
"Hi Marius!
I shall shortly be starting your plan in preperation for a marathon in March.
What are your thoughts on multivitamins? I struggle to get my 5 fruit and veg a day and was considering using multivitamin tablets to help replace what I miss."
Do you have any recommendations?"
Answer: It is certainly not something you need to do. Most will get plenty of vitamin through a normal way of eating. Having said that, it does not hurt to add 1-2 multivitamin tablets in the morning. In that case, go with well established brands such as Solaray.
Having said that, I strongly recommend monitoring you iron + ferritin levels during the training. Take one test 3-4 weeks before starting the plan (or right now) and one in the middle of it. You want your ferritine levels between 30-80. If they are longer, you need to take a supplement.
Other than that, I am also in favour of Omega 3 fatty acids, but that's about it in terms of supplements !
I wish you all the best,
kind regards, Marius
