Achilles injury - how to deal with it :
"Hi, its Craig MacGregor here from Perth in Scotland. I work as a bin man loading green waste 4 days of the week and I have a sore and stiff achilies heel. Its an old injury, which has recurred when I jumped out the lorry to load the garden bins. I can not stay off it because of my work, so what is the best way to treat this injury? After injury has heeled, how long should I give before starting training? do I start at the begining again? No race in mind until the 24 hour run fest in Perth Sep 2012. I normally walk between 10 to 15 miles a day with my job, just in case you need to know this. Thanking you in advance. Craig MacGregor."
Answer: Hi Craig, I've touched this once before - and I will give you the same answer I did then : Achilles tendon problem - click the link to see how to deal with this type of problem.
In addition to this I strongly suggest changing shoe BRAND, not just type. Ideally to Asics if you do not use this already. If you are already with Asics, try Nike. This is just my personal experience with this type of injury.
I wish you all the best and I hope you'll get this under control!
kind regards, Marius
